Tekken 6 has been around as a project since 2005, when it was announced at the same time as Sony's PlayStation 3. Four years have passed, and it seems like the game is finally ready for the audience. Namco Bandai announced on Friday that they'd finished developing the game for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 and that it has gone gold. It looks like Tekken will be able to meet the October 27 deadline that was previously set.

The long-awaited arcade fighter really is long awaited. The four years that it spent in development have left the fans a lot more than just eager concerning this sixth installment of the series and what exactly it will bring to the franchise. The game will have two available retail releases, a standard and a limited edition. The first pack is priced at $59.99 while the second comes at a pretty steep $149.99. This bundle will be made of a Tekken 6 Wireless Fight Stick Bundle and should prove to be quite a nifty little collectible for the die-hard fans. The limited edition pack will also contain a Tekken 6-themed art book and a Hori wireless fight stick.

GameStop has a special preorder offer that will grant its customers the special Penny Arcade Samurai Pack. This is a downloadable item that will unlock the Cardboard Tube Samurai costume for the sword prodigy Yoshimitsu. In addition, it will also grant access to the limited-edition Samurai Battle Banners that can decorate any of the 40 fighters in the game. A special calendar will also be given to the fans that shop at GameStop. The 2009-2010 Tekken 6-themed calendar will only be available in a limited number, so if you want to stare at Tekken for the entire next year you'd better hurry with those preorders.

Even though they didn't give any kind of details, Namco Bandai said that the game would also be ported to other platforms. The one that was announced was for the PlayStation Portable console and received a vague release date of fall 2009. No news regarding the PSP version surfaced during the announcement regarding the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Gold version.
