Xbox owner turns into a chef

Water drips, the Earth is round, Halo 3 sells and ... the Xbox 360 can melt if it's left on a heated stove. These are all general truths that usually require no demonstration in order to prove that they're facts. Well, maybe except for that last statement...

One of Engadget's readers, Ty was keen on announcing everyone that he had almost completely fried his console, by placing it on the kitchen stove. Apparently, he and the boys were getting ready for a Halo 3 LAN party and the house was getting quite crowded... From what I can see in this article's adjoined pic, only the exterior of the gaming device was melted and perhaps its hardware remained intact. However, if the heat was turned up enough to melt the Xbox 360's cover some hardware damage could have occurred as well.

That, unless Ty equipped his console with a revolutionary cooling system or he just had some luck and the gaming device escaped unharmed. I really don't get these people; they try to cool the console by dipping it into buckets of water or they place them on stoves and still they complain about overheating and other issues. Like in the case of most of the gadgets nowadays, a device's worst enemy is its owner, who sometimes acts like he didn't pay a dime for it.

We've yet to see an Xbox 360 surviving inside a freezer, but who knows what crazy gamers will come up with in the future. Believe it or not, the console's hole in the plastic exterior looks quite cool and adds a bit of punch to its design. Too bad for Ty that he had to clean up all that plastic in order to show the gaming community that stoves and Xbox-es just don't mix.
