The Juventus situation has become more complicated than ever. What happens now to Juventus
brings back memories; some time ago, a big club had the same problems. The name of that club is Fiorentina. It was then rumored that, unhappy with the political growth of Fiorentina`s owner (Mario Cecchi Gori), Silvio Berlusconi did his best to put him under investigation. As a consequence of the illegal things found at the Firenze club, Fiorentina was relegated into the 3rd Italian division, more that 5 years ago.
The history seems to be repeating these days at Turin. After Luciano Moggi was (and still is) under investigation over the referring allegations earlier last week, another scandal strikes Juventus. The latest information concerning the club was brought to the public eye on Tuesday, when Antonio Giraudo - one of the Juventus executives - was also put under investigation concerning financial problems inside the club. More, the son of Luciano Moggi, Alessandro, is himself being accused over involvement in gambling and operations in his management company.
Alessandro`s firm has more than 200 players and coaches under contract. The magistrates are investigating the firm in terms of "illegal competition with use of threats and violence".
What seemed to be only a small conflict of interests now grew into one of the biggest scandals in Italian football history. Considering all that happened in the last week, winning the Serie A on Sunday will bring anything but happiness to the face of all Juventus employees and fans. It has been proved, once again, that if you play with fire - Silvio Berlusconi I mean - you will certainly end-up burnt, one way or the other.
