Just when you thought that the famous Celebgate scandal, the biggest leak of intimate photos of female celebrities in the history of the internet, died down, here comes another scandal, the continuation of the first one, to reveal the intimacies of your favorite celebrities like you've never seen them before.

The consequences of the first scandal had barely died down when a brand new, and seemingly bigger scandal, is ripping Hollywood apart again. This time, some other celebrities have been targeted, but also some of those  involved in the first one – again, Jennifer Lawrence makes an appearance, proving that she's a fan favorite.

New celebrities have been hacked, the photos could be fake

The celebrities involved in the leak scandal this time are Kim Kardashian, Avril Lavigne, Amber Heard, Hayden Panattiere, Vanessa Hudgens, Mary-Kate Olsen, Leelee Sobieski, Kaley Cuoco, Aubrey Plaza, Hope Solo, Rihanna and Sarah Hyland among others.

Right now, it's still not clear if the photos in what is being called Celebgate 2 are part of the first leak or have come after Apple has beefed up its security on the iCloud. If that is the case, it seems that their new measurements have proven to be useless.

The second wave of leaks hit the internet over the weekend

The second wave of leaks began hitting the internet on late Friday and reached its peak on Sunday, with updates constantly appearing in rapid succession.

It's believed that the second wave of leaks was done by the same person who was at the source of the first leak scandal. Many are wondering what led to the weeks-long hiatus. The first photos on the second leak began appearing on Anon-IB, a 4chan offshoot and served as the starting point for the wave of reposts that followed.

Celebrity websites such as TMZ have begun covering the scandal and it seems the major themes today are if the photos are real, and if so, how the celebrities in question react to them. Legal teams in Hollywood are scrambling to do damage control, but so far, most of the celebrities involved have refused to comment on the matter.

The media is waiting for official responses from the celebrities involved

Based on the experiences from the previous scandal, if celebrities have their lawyers threaten anyone who publishes them with lawsuits, that is proof that the photos are, in fact, real. This is what happened with photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and McKayla Maroney the first time around.

The story is still developing and it will surely bring back all the discussions about the morality of the situation and the security of Apple phones which, so far, has proven to be lacking at best.
