The hacktivists compare the case of the WikiLeaks founder to the one of a US child abuser

The United Kingdom faction of Anonymous has released a video statement urging the government to allow WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to go to Ecuador, the country that has recently granted him asylum.

“We are very disappointed with your stand of preventing Julian Assange from leaving this country safely. We are very amused by your two-faced attitude. One law for one person and another law for someone else,” the hacktivists state.

They compare the case of Assange to the one of Sean Sullivan, a US citizen accused of being a child molester who is currently being “protected” by the UK government. The hackers explain that Sullivan, who has fled to Ireland just before being accused by a US court, is not extradited because a court decided that it would violate his human rights.

“Your vengeful pursuit of a freedom fighting journalist is an indication of your government’s blatant disregard for ethical justice. You are the symptoms of a cancer that has riddled this once great country into the depths of depravity and evil,” they add.

The members of Anonymous highlight the fact that the UK condemns countries such as Iran and Syria for their “despotic regimes,” but fails to look into the abuses that occur in its own back yard.

Furthermore, they accuse the government for spending 11 million pounds on the Olympics, instead of giving it to police, hospitals, schools, and social care institutions.

“We ask you to let Julian Assange free, to safely aid him in his travel to Ecuador, to his new life, away from this corrupt country. Anonymous UK will continue to be the thorn in your side if you do not,” they pled.

“We will continue to protest your mobster-like government at any opportunity, to draw attention to your crimes in attempt to expose you as the rats that you are. Do the right thing, free Julian Assange.”
