The official website of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was out of service temporarily, Anonymous hackers taking credit for the incident.

RT reports that on Friday, February 3, the DHSs site was taken offline at around 4 PM EST time. The downtime didn’t last long and the website was back on track a few minutes later.

A short time later, the hacktivists also took credit for hacking the site belonging to the attorneys of Sgt. Frank Wuterich, a US Marine recently trialed for a massacre of Iraqi civilians.

The hackers were displeased with the fact that Wuterich wasn’t sentenced to jail even though he admitted to his role in the raid that targeted civilians.

These incidents come after Anonymous managed to leak a conference call between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Scotland Yard in which investigators discussed their findings regarding the loose-knit collective.
