Anonymous hackers gained access to some emails from Mexico’s mining industry which revealed that the government is trying to manipulate everyone into thinking that coal mining and similar projects don’t affect climate change.

According to Censored News, the emails show that mining companies don’t really care about the environment, devastating Indigenous lands, considered to be sacred, without giving it much thought.

“Mean while you rob you own miners, we rob you e-mail accounts. You don’t have any security measurements for our miner brothers, neither in your e-mails,” Anonymous states.

A Canadian silver mining firm is especially targeted, being accused of already causing harm and planning on creating other sites in the sacred lands of Wixarika.

“Mexico, the miner companies and the miner sindicates are together only to steal our minerals. With a value over $200,000,000 and forcing our miners to work in extreme danger conditions as the case of the leader Napoleon Gomez Urrutia who stole more than 55 million of dollars, which are for the mine security and this conducted to a tragedy,” the hackers add.

They obtained 730 megabytes worth of emails and one of the company’s databases, which allegedly contains tons of information to unmask the injustices that take place.

The native Americans from regions such as Sonora, Mexico, and the O’odham, who live on both sides of the US – Mexico border, fear that their lands will be completely destroyed and their water will be poisoned if the silver and gold mining operations continue.

While the Mexican University of Guanajuato is accused of assisting mining corporations by offering courses that promote mining activities, the US University of Arizona is allegedly militarizing the region and making it part of a global spying program initiated in collaboration with DHS and the US Border Patrol.
