Anonymous, Portable Web Browsing Via Torpark

Torpark is designed as a completely portable web browser built on Mozilla Firefox. But not a Firefox shell, as the modifications implemented to the Portable Firefox have resulted in a different browser
using TOR (The Onion Router) to create network anonymity. Hacktivismo announced - though a press release - the immediate availability for download of Torpark.

"We live in a time where acquisition technologies are cherry picking and collating every aspect of our online lives," said Hacktivismo founder Oxblood Ruffin. "Torpark continues Hacktivismo's commitment to expanding privacy rights on the Internet. And the best thing is, it's free. No one should have to pay for basic human rights, especially the right of privacy."

A superficial testing revealed that the browser is slow, taking a decent amount of time to connect to a web site, and speed performance is certainly an aspect that needs additional work, but Torpark's advantages may as well be worth the wait, so to speak. Torpark delivers anonymity and portable web browsing, requiring no configuration or installation. As it can even run from an USB memory stick, the browser leaves no fingerprints on the machine, although its creators have warned that launching Torpark from an USB memory stick will decrease its already slow speed.

"Torpark causes the IP address seen by the website to change every few minutes to frustrate eavesdropping and mask the requesting source. The data passing from the user's computer into the TOR network is encrypted. Therefore, the user's Internet Service Provider (ISP) cannot see the information that is passing through the Torpark browser, such as the websites visited, or posts the user might have made to a forum. The ISP can only see an encrypted connection to the TOR network. Torpark anonymizes the user's connection but not the data. Data traveling between the client and the TOR network is encrypted, but the data between the TOR network and websites is unencrypted," stated Hacktivismo's press release.

Torpark 1.5.0.7 was tested by Softpedia as being 100% Clean and is available for download here.
