With the recent news about PRISM and state surveillance, the preparations for Anonymous’ OpJuly4th – a campaign initiated at the beginning of 2013 – have stepped into high gear.

The campaign’s aim is to raise awareness and, according to the activists, “restore our nation to unity and return popular voice as the governing hand of our nation.”

“On July 4th 2013, all Anons are called to stand in front of public gatherings and centers of commerce and hand out copies of the U.S. Constitution,” reads a statement published on Sunday by the campaign’s initiators.

According to the OpJuly4th.com website, 101 cities from all over the US will take part in the event.

The operations’ initiators say the protest will be peaceful and there’s no mention of any hack attacks. However, since this is an Anonymous campaign, chances are that at least some hackers will show their support in their specific manner.
