ifapray.org and getamericapraying.com have been targeted by the hackers

Hackers of the Anonymous movement claim to have breached the systems of Intercessors for America, a non-profit Christian organization founded in 1973.

The credentials of nearly 10,000 Internet users who have signed up on ifapray.org and getamericapraying.com have been leaked. Both websites are operated by Intercessors for America.

Cyber War News has analyzed the leaked data and has found 9,885 unique email address and clear text password combinations. It appears that the websites use WordPress, so it’s possible that the attackers have leveraged a vulnerability in the content management system to gain access to the data.

“This leak is in the true spirit of Anonymous. Any individual trying to claim responsibility for it is not the hacker who did it,” the hackers wrote next to the data leak.

As far as their motivation is concerned, it appears the attackers don’t like that the religious organization is interfering with the government.

At the time of writing, getamericapraying.com appeared to be working properly, but ifapray.org was inaccessible.

I’ve reached out to Intercessors for America to see if they care to comment on the incident. The post will be updated in case they respond.
