Anonymous Spain pulled off a stunt that has rarely been seen. On the occasion of the Spanish Academy Awards, also known as the Goya Awards, not only did they hack the official website of the Spanish Film Academy, but they also penetrated the physical security measures at the Goyas, planning to jump onto the stage during the event.

According to El Mundo, three individuals wearing Guy Fawkes masks, the symbol of Anonymous, managed to bypass security at the event that took place in Madrid at the Palace of Congress.

When the nominees for best director were being announced, the masked men tried to jump onto the stage.

In this case, the security services stopped them just before jumping on stage, but if Penelope Cruz, Pilar Lopez de Ayala, Maria Valverde, present at the awards, got away unharmed physically, Anonymous hackers managed to leave their mark on the event and harm the actors in their own way.

Not long after this incident occurred, members of Anonymous revealed the fact that they gained access to the official site of the Spanish Film Academy, leaking tons of information on 3,000 people, including actors, producers and employees.

Phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses, password hashes, and user ID’s were all published online for anyone to see, all part of a protest against an anti-piracy law known as the Sinde Law.

“The Big industry and their puppet artists want to make money at any price, even with crappy versions of censuring laws Made in the USA. I wonder what will happen when they realize they don't make money because we don't want their products, music and/or movies, not even as gifts,” reads a translation of the statement given by the hacker.

“Maybe they should ask themselves if 'forcing' people to buy their products benefits them in any way. People hardly download their products in 'pirated' and 'illegal' manners, imagine if they had to pay for it.”
