Anonymous SV, the Salvadorian faction of the infamous hacking group, and a collective known as 4AnonHack managed to breach the security measures implemented by the official website of the Cultural Secretariat of Mexico (cultura.michoacan.gob.mx), leaking some information from one of their databases.

Names, usernames, phone numbers and email addresses were published in a Pastebin document.

Judging by the published file, the hackers utilized some sort of automated tool to help them find the vulnerabilities in the website. Since this type of software is becoming more available and more popular among cybercriminals, most probably we’ll see a lot of leaked information from government sites in the near future.

This is just another warning signal that should raise the awareness of state authorities on the fact that many of their official websites can be easily taken down by hackers, and their members and customers can always become exposed to some malicious operation.
