Anonymous-affiliated hacker AnonSabre has managed to breach the servers of Walla!, the popular Israeli web portal. As a result of the hack, apparently part of OpIsrael, the details of 600,000 email accounts have been published online.

PwnedList was among the first to investigate the incident. The company has told SC Magazine that the leaked data appears to be genuine.

A total of 93 Pastebin posts containing sensitive information have been published over the course of 24 hours.

Walla! has confirmed the breach, but the company has downplayed the seriousness of the incident.

Walla! representatives say that the published information is useless because the passwords leaked by the hacker are encrypted.

“However, we are working on 'hermetically' sealing off user details in Walla! accounts,” they told Haaretz.

OpIsrael is not as intense as during the last attacks between Hamas and Israel, but hacktivists still continue to attack Israeli websites as part of the campaign.
