A large number of sensitive documents have been leaked online

Similar to other hacktivist collectives, Anonymous Germany also celebrated Guy Fawkes Day yesterday by hacking various websites. One of their targets was the website of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe – Parliamentary Assembly (oscepa.org).

The organization is focused on facilitating inter-parliamentary dialogue to its 320 members, located in 56 states.

If the hackers’ claims are correct, their website hasn’t been properly secured. The hackers have leaked a fairly large number of documents and images allegedly stolen from the organization’s systems.

The most worrying fact is that some of the leaked files contain highly sensitive information, including bank account numbers, and other monetary transaction details.

I’ve sent an email to OSCEPA representatives to see if they can comment on the incident. I’ll update the article as soon as more information becomes available.
