Over the weekend, hackers of Anonymous Cambodia have launched distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks against over two dozen government and government-related websites.

The cyberattacks came just as hundreds of thousands of people marched on the streets of Cambodia’s capital city of Phnom Penh demanding new elections, and asking for the prime minister to step down.

The targeted sites belong to various ministries, the police, educational institutions, and other organizations with ties to the government.

At the time of writing, most of the websites appear to be working, but they’re still experiencing performance issues.

“We also found that dictator uses Cambodia state-owned web server to host their own political party website. This is violating the laws of the kingdom,” the hackers wrote on Facebook.
