Anonymous Africa has temporarily stopped targeting African politicians and organizations which they accuse of being corrupt, particularly Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe.

Now, they’ve turned their attention to the website of The Guardian Express newspaper (guardianlv.com).

The hackers claim to have targeted the newspaper for “filthy profiteering lies.”

“That website is false. It is profiteering off false news. Which is why we are running ops against it,” the hackers wrote on Twitter.

“They create fake news to make money. They are saying Mandela is dead for days now so they make money,” Anonymous Africa representatives added.

The website has been under fire for around one hour. Currently, it’s working intermittently. The hacktivists say the company is trying to mitigate the attack, but they're adapting their methods to keep the site offline.

It’s worth noting that The Guardian Express is a Nevada-based online newspaper led by Frackle Media. It should not be mistaken for the renowned British national daily newspaper.
