Hackers of Anonymous-affiliated hacker collective AnonGhost say they’re stepping down.

“It was an unforgettable moment but we just move on. AnonGhost was here, we are leaving you with honor. No more deface or hacked by AnonGhost from now,” the hackers wrote on Facebook.

However, they’re not leaving without sending a message to the Israeli and other governments: “Israhell & all governments of the world, AnonGhost is everywhere and will be always present. Expect us. We saw your reaction, we know your feelings, we control your mind.”

AnonGhost is best known for campaigns such as OpIsrael and OpUSA. In the past months, the group defaced a large number of websites and leaked a lot of data. They’ve also managed to unite several hacktivist collectives to fight for the same goals.

However, they’re probably best known for their more controversial hacks and their exaggerated claims. Most of the files they’ve leaked online turned out to be exact copies of older leaks. Also, many of the websites they’ve defaced are commercial sites that don’t have anything to do with the actual targets of their operations.
