Anne Hathaway and her fiancé Adam Shulman have tied the knot over the weekend in a surprise, nature-inspired ceremony to which only close friends and family members were invited. People magazine has confirmation of the happy event.

Mostly because they’re an extremely low-key couple, the two did not make too much of a fuss of their engagement or wedding plans.

Over the weekend, they tied the knot in a superb and very intimate ceremony, celebrating then the event with their loved ones for the entire duration of the weekend.

They were married on Saturday in Big Sur, California.

“More than 150 guests were invited for the wedding weekend, which started Friday with a rehearsal dinner at the Ventana Inn and Spa. A nearby private estate was secured for the ceremony. And Valentino provided a custom gown, the designer confirmed last week,” People reports.

“The wedding décor was inspired by nature, with many branches used to create a ceremony and reception to blend in with the majestic Big Sur surroundings,” the same media outlet notes.

Celebuzz has even more details about the ceremony, including on the flower arrangements, and how they cost $100,000 (€77,857) and over a week to make.

“Each table had 12 mini centerpieces [and] they were transported from Los Angeles to the Central Coast of California for the occasion,” the celebrity e-zine says.

“The flowers were arranged by The Velvet Garden, a floral design studio that specialized in high-end one of a kind designs. The florists previously created arrangements for the weddings of Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman,” adds the same media outlet, noting that the exact number of guests was 180.

San Francisco-based jazz trio Americano Social Club sang for the first hour, after which an LA-based DJ took over.

Anne and Adam have been together for about 4 years and announced their engagement last November, refusing to disclose any plans for the wedding.
