Anne Hathaway is a convinced vegetarian, and most of her life choices stand as proof of her cruelty-free ethics.

The bondage boots she chose to wear at the “Les Miserables” premiere in New York also go to show that the actress is not willing to make any compromises when it comes to abiding by her green-oriented values, even if the matter at hand is fashion.

These boots were designer by Tom Ford, who chose to manufacture them from faux leather (i.e. artificial leather).

Either because they are eco-friendly, or because they look darn cool, Anne Hathaway’s boots caused quite a media stir, and several animal rights activists were quick in saluting the actress's choice of footwear.

It was Anne Hathaway’s decision to match these bondage boots with a Givenchy vintage dress, sources say.
