Anne Hathaway is on fire! Her latest film, the critically acclaimed musical “Les Miserables,” has already earned her plenty of accolades (with more yet to come probably), but she’s planning her next move as we speak.

Sources tell The Wrap that the actress has just landed the leading role in a new adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play “The Taming of the Shrew.”

Confirmation of this is still pending – official confirmation, that is – but certain details have already emerged online, which could point out that this is more than just a rumor.

“Abi Morgan, who scripted ‘The Iron Lady’ and ‘Shame,’ will handle the adaptation, a modern-day retelling of the iconic play set in mid-20th century Italy,” The Wrap writes.

“The project will be produced by Debra Hayward and Working Title, another individual with knowledge of the film told TheWrap,” adds the same media outlet.

Contacted for comment, none of the parties involved in the supposed new partnership / project was available.
