Paparazzi shots catch Anne off guard, she’s understandably mortified

Unlike some celebrities thought to be doing it on purpose, Anne Hathaway doesn’t need scandalous pictures to make headlines and get people interested in her work. This explains why she’s feeling “devastated” after a huge faux-pas at a movie premiere.

Anne is now promoting her new film, “Les Miserables,” which is said to land her a well-deserved Oscar nomination. Safe to say not everything went as planned at the NY premiere of the film.

A photo of the star getting out of an SUV started making the rounds a short while ago, the kind of photo fans would probably never expect from her.

To put it delicately, it has her flashing the paparazzi, as the New York Daily News can confirm.

For the event, Anne wore a black Tom Ford gown (pictured) with a high thigh slit and, based on photographic evidence, no undies, the perfect recipe for one such accident waiting to happen.

It only makes sense then that she felt mortified the instant she realized what the paparazzi had caught on camera, as she admitted at the afterparty to Vanity Fair writer Ingrid Sischy, as cited by the aforementioned media outlet.

“I was getting out of the car and my dress was so tight that I didn’t realize it until I saw all the photographers’ flashes,” Anne said.

“It was devastating. They saw everything. I might as well have lifted up my skirt for them,” the actress added.

As noted above, Anne certainly doesn’t need the extra media attention to have done this on purpose.

For the past few weeks she’s been intensely promoting “Les Miserables,” which has already won warm praises from the critics community.

In it, she plays Fantine, a role that required her to lose a lot of weight and, perhaps a woman’s worst nightmare, crudely chop her long hair in front of the camera.

The film is a musical, and also stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried.
