At Monday's MET Gala, celebrities strutted their stuff on the red carpet, wowing in the latest creations from the biggest names in the fashion industry. Kim Kardashian was notably absent – and that's because Anna Wintour herself banned her from the A-list festivities.

Though Kim is one of the hottest celebrities of the moment, being able to command hefty paychecks for one single appearance, the (in)famous Vogue editor still doesn't want anything to do with her.

This explains why she wasn't on the red carpet at this year's MET Ball, even though pretty much everyone else (everyone who is anyone, that is) was.

Radar Online claims to have it on very good authority that Wintour banned Kim and her family from the A-list gala a few years ago, and she still stands by her word.

So, instead of posing in haute couture on the red carpet, Kim was at home, tweeting and blogging about the fashion choices of other celebrities.

“Kim’s new boyfriend, superstar Kanye West, was at Anna Wintour’s fabled Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala, but Kim was not by his side, and that’s down to an edict straight from the famed Vogue editor for years,” the celebrity publication writes.

Said “edict” was issued because Wintour hates Kim and feels she's not worthy of swimming in the same circles as herself.

“Anna hates Kim. Why would she be invited to the event? It is all the biggest stars in the world and Kim doesn’t fit that bill at all,” an all-knowing source tells Radar.

Not even money, of which Kim has more than plenty, can get Wintour to change her mind.

“The Met Gala is $25,000 [€19,272.2] a ticket, but Kim can’t even buy her way in, Anna Wintour does NOT want her there!” the insider explains.

The unnamed source also believes that Kim and her camp will try to deny the above report the moment it reaches their ears, perhaps by issuing a statement to say she didn't attend because she was otherwise engaged.

As per the same insider, the ban also extends to the cover of the fashion bible.

“Anna Wintour would allow Kim Kardashian on the cover of Vogue over her dead body. As long as Anna in charge you will NOT see Kim on Vogue,” says the spy.
