Also takes a public stand against attorney Howard K. Stern

The Anna Nicole Smith saga just entered a new chapter a few days ago, with the arrest of Howard K. Stern, her former attorney and partner, and two other physicians that were all accused of supplying the late star the drugs that eventually led to her death. Now, another man from Smith’s past, Mark “Hollywood” Hatten, whom the diva dated for a period of two years and was presumably married to, is speaking out in the Stern case. At the same time, Hatten is also making photos from his personal album public for the first time.

Mark first met Anna in 2000 and spent two blissful years with her and her son Daniel. He also became acquainted with Stern, a friend of the family but, as it happened, in the end, it would be Stern himself who would push him away.

Hatten repeatedly warned authorities that Anna Nicole Smith was being fed drugs by Stern, only to be rebutted each and every time, with the attorney saying he was just trying to save his own reputation. Now, it turns out that he was, indeed, right, as the latest charges brought against Stern indicate.

“A heartfelt THANK YOU to Mr. Jerry Brown and all the law enforcement officials who worked so hard on the investigation which resulted in these arrests. Howard K. Stern Esq was once a good friend of mine who I liked, trusted and cared about. He should be ashamed of his actions. Howard betrayed me and I went to prison in 2004. I had told the law enforcement officials Howard K Stern tried to murder me with a ‘toxic blend of narcotic drugs’.” Mark “Hollywood” Hatten tells Softpedia in an exclusive press statement.

“Furthermore, I exposed the fact that Howard K. Stern Esq. was obtaining both prescription drugs and illegal drugs for Anna Nicole Smith and she was having drug induced seizures. I informed the officials I feared for her life! I testified at trial, that Anna Nicole Smith would die of a drug overdose like her idol Marilyn Monroe, if someone did not help her! I begged the court and the officials for this help which would have indeed saved Anna Nicole Smith’s life!” Hatten further says. Court papers filed (all of which we have personally seen) upon Hatten’s arrest, reportedly another move on Stern’s behalf to shut him out of Anna Nicole’s life, show that, indeed, he repeatedly warned authorities about Smith’s unwilling drug use.

Along with the above statement, Mark “Hollywood” Hatten has also provided us with several photos from his personal album, in which he can be seen in the company of Anna Nicole Smith and Howard K. Stern. This is not so much a matter of selling his side of the story to the media (or of making any profit off the photos), but of getting the truth out there, especially in the context in which most media outlets refused to believe he even knew the late Playboy star when he first went public with their love affair. His upcoming rockumentary, a tribute to Anna Nicole Smith, and several other media products will only come to reinforce this.

Below are just some of the shots that confirm that Hatten and Smith were once very much in love, and that Mr. Hatten was so kind as to share them with us. For more on this story, keep an eye on this space.
