Anna Kournikova Might Make Tennis Comeback

Anna Kournikova might make her comeback into tennis. Although she hasn't played it in a while, the Russian is pretty keen on going back to the tennis court. And she made that very clear a few weeks ago. While asked if modeling is the most important thing for her for the moment, the Russian replied: "I don't rule out tennis for the future. I am yet to retire and I might come back sooner than expected".

Well, her former doubles' partner, Swiss champion Martina Hingis, seems to have picked up on that. Since she didn't have a doubles' teammate in a while, Hingis started thinking about pairing with the Russian in the near future. Although Kournikova did not win a singles' tournament in her entire career, the Russian can be proud of her 2 Grand Slam titles in the doubles' competition.

Each time, Hingis was her pair. And both victories took place on Melbourne, at the Australian Open. Since she is not really doing something for the moment, Anna decided to give it another shot in tennis. So she announced Hingis that they might compete together (again) next year.

The Swiss champion - winner of 5 singles' Grand Slam titles during her entire career and former WTA number one - admitted that pairing with Kournikova is a possibility, but advised her former teammate to get into shape.

"If we are to pair, I don't want to go out in the first round. I am confident that she will train very well so that coming into the tour won't be a shock. She still needs a lot of practice and, after she'll be ready, I'm ready to talk. She used to have her team & mother's full support but, as I understand, she can't enjoy it anymore", stated Hingis.
