14 DAY TRIAL // If you’ve seen the first two trailers for the upcoming “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie and you’re either snickering because of the bad acting / dialog or planning not to see it because you read the books and know what to expect, you’re not alone in feeling “turned off” by it.
Celebrities feel the same way about the film, which is based on E.L. James’ best-selling novel of the same name, the first installment in a trilogy of adult books that got millions of women around the world all hot and bothered, quite literally so.
Anna Kendrick is among the first stars to speak out against the film, saying on Twitter that leading man Jamie Dornan looks like a “kid,” which has the exact opposite effect on her than being turned on, if that was what producers had in mind for female viewers.
You can see her tweet below, right above the first two trailers mentioned earlier on. Then you can watch the videos and decide for yourself if Dornan looks like a “kid” or not. Readers of the book, who have been waiting for a couple of years already for this film to be made, agree that he translates into a decent Christian Grey, close to what they had imagined.
These are the same fans who reacted very negatively to Dornan’s casting, mostly because he didn’t seem able to capture Grey’s inner darkness.
“Fifty Shades of Grey,” for those who still don’t know, is a movie about a man whose romantic relationships are of the S&M type, so when he meets the virgin Anastasia Steele, he finds her intriguing enough and asks her to become his submissive for a short while. She says yes.
It will be out in theaters on Valentine’s Day, if you’re planning on seeing it.
