The singer Ke$ha is an outspoken supporter of animal rights and takes every opportunity she can to expose cruelty against them. But this “holier than thou” attitude might just be an act, as it turns out.

Radar has the evidence to reveal that Ke$ha was secretly detained back in 2012 by Homeland Security when trying to smuggle ivory into the United States.

Despite being named a global ambassador for the Humane Society International back in 2011, the “Tik Tok” singer didn't shy away from attempting to bring a “snuff bottle” made from ivory into the country.

The event took place back in August of 2012, when the singer was returning from a tour in Japan. The government documents show that Ke$ha was seized at the Los Angeles airport in regards to her smuggling attempt.

Because her souvenir was made out of ivory, customs officers were forced to take her into interrogation. After their “interview” with the singer, it was established that her mystery item in question was a “snuff bottle made out of ivory,” valued at $500 (€365).

It's been revealed that another member of her entourage was also detained in a separate incident at the airport over an ivory item, two days before Ke$ha found herself talking with customs officials.

This news contradicts everything the vegetarian singer has led us to believe when she spoke out against animal cruelty and wildlife trafficking.

The singer is currently in rehab, being treated for an eating disorder. It was announced that she was recently joined there by her mother who is said to be suffering from post-traumatic stress linked to Ke$ha's rapid weight loss incident.

Both Ke$ha and her mother blame her producer Dr. Luke for her anorexia and bulimia, having called her a “refrigerator” and demanding that she lose weight. The producer has denied the claim.
