Not very long ago, Tamira Thayne decided to take the headquarters of a major dogfighting operation and turn it into a safe haven for these animals. At that time, people actually believed that, as the name of her foundation suggested, Tamira Thayne lived guided by the principle that “Dogs Deserve Better.”

Still, it just came to our attention that, after several complaints were filed by concerned citizens and animal rights activists, investigations showed that the animals living at the Good Newz Rehab Center for Chained and Penned Dogs rescue center might have deserved better, but got very little that matched what they deserved.

According to Global Animal, several officers, accompanied by members of Virginia’s Office of Veterinary Services, recently paid a visit to this facility and soon after an arrest warrant was issued for Tamira Thayne.

Interestingly enough, it seems that authorities have yet to find the founder of Dogs Deserve Better in order to present her with said warrant. However, rumor has it that a court hearing has already been scheduled to take place on September 25.

According to the same source, the official Facebook page for this rescue center witnessed the posting of a message saying that all of these accusations lack valid argumentation and that both Tamira Thayne and the people working with her will soon step up and present evidence that all of the animal cruelty charges filed against them have nothing to do with what is actually taking place at the center.

“There is no truth to the recent news articles. This is another attempt by a small group of people who are trying to put an end to Dogs Deserve Better and other rescue groups. They have been sending in false claims to the Surry County officials and demanding they close our rescue,” they supposedly argued.

Furthermore, “We have copies of their letters and are in the process of getting it straightened out. There will be an official statement soon.”

Hopefully, more information on this case will soon be made available.
