Kim Kardashian and animal activists rarely see eye to eye, because she loves fur and leather too much to give them up. If anything, her fur-wearing has intensified since she started dating her current husband Kanye West, most likely because he too loves it and he’s the one who dresses her.

The other day, the reality star made an appearance at Barnes & Nobles in New York City, to sign copies of her new book, “Selfish,” which is a book of selfies: i.e. a “book” that includes pictures she took on her cell phone and which fans can also find online, on her Twitter and Instagram.

Several animal activists also showed up.

Kim is confronted by activists, there’s video of it

As you can see in the video below, the animal activists sneaked in by pretending they were fans come for the book signing. Seeing how there was actually a queue for the event, with many people camping outside the bookstore during the night for the chance of a KimK autograph, you’ve got to admire their dedication.

So when they got inside and faced the reality star, they started yelling at or casually asking her how she felt knowing so many animals had to die, just so she could feel pretty or fashionable.

Kim maintained her frozen smile throughout all this and didn’t engage with them at all. However, her bodyguards were working overtime, either trying to remove the activists from the scene or getting them to put away their cell phones, with which they were recording everything.

You see, Kim banned selfies from the event. In other words, fans were prohibited from taking selfies at an event for the launch of a book of selfies. Let that sink in.

So in addition to the animal activists, she also managed to get fans upset, by refusing them the chance to have a photo with or of her.

Kim Kardashian, an easy target

As noted above, Kim Kardashian and animal activists don’t like each other, so this isn’t the first time she’s confronted on the topic of wearing fur and leather.

Comparatively, this instance was less troublesome for the reality star, as all she had to do was sit back and just let her bodyguards do their job. On a previous occasion, a few years ago, Kim was flour-bombed on the red carpet, and though no one “claimed” the attack, it is believed it was one of these animal rights groups who ordered it.
