14 DAY TRIAL // After discovering her husband's affair, the angry wife decides to let the cheating man know about their divorce through an outside sign above a bar.
Devastated by the finding, the woman has persuaded Noah's Yard bar staff to let her post the message on the bar's sign. The establishment is known for frequently changing their message sign and approved the hurt woman's request.
In a moment of mixed feelings, she wanted to make her husband pay and decided to shame him publicly, writing “Paul...I am divorcing you” and then adding “BTW I am keeping the dog” above the bar's door. The couple was married for a few years and the news that her perfect half cheated devastated her.
“I am absolutely devastated and going through a really tough time at the moment. A lot of my friends and family have seen [the sign] and have been supporting me,” the woman, who decided to remain anonymous, told Mail Online.
The woman admits that seeing the sign with her cheating husband's shameful name in it made her feel better. She messaged her husband to go and read it and felt even better when he was furious about it. Even if their marriage is ruined, the soon-to-be ex-wife fells just a bit better after shaming her unfaithful partner.
People from the neighborhood were amused by the event and supported the angry woman. “Good for her. Maybe he thought he could get away with sleeping around but I bet he is regretting it now,” one of the people seeing the sign told the press. Another passerby said that this could be used as a lesson for others thinking of doing the same thing, “I would be mortified it that ever happened to me.”
The bar's owner, Noah Redfern, says he likes changing the message on the sign and exhibiting different statements that people request. Once he had a romantic proposal posted above the bar, but the divorce announcement is a first. Maybe he will start using it as a marketing opportunity.
