A game inspired by the Trayvon Martin murder has made its way in app stores. According to Fast Company, it turned up on the Google Play store, but it was taken off after public outrage over the questionable subject.

17-year-old Trayvon Martin was fatally shot by George Zimmerman, who claimed that the teen attacked him. Recent developments in the trial have revealed text messages showing that Martin was planning to buy a gun.

The game has apparently been available since Christmas Day of 2012 and it shows Martin in his hoodie hitting a man with a beard.

A petition was set up to get rid of the game, and the company apologized and claimed that they have removed it. However, it was back on Google Play in a few hours.

“Sorry for the inconvenience as this was just an action game for entertainment. This was by no means a racist game. Nonetheless, it was removed as will this page and anything associated with the game will be removed,” they wrote on Facebook.
