Owners of devices running under Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 operating system would soon gave the possibility to enjoy a series of new, appealing games on their handsets, including the popular Angry Birds from Rovio, or Plants vs. Zombies from PopCap. We already knew that these games were set to make an appearance on devices powered by Microsoft's mobile OS, but no specific info on when they would be released emerged until now.

Those who have been eagerly awaiting for news on this should know that Windows Phone devices would receive both games in late June, as Microsoft has just unveiled to the world.

Plants vs. Zombies would be the first to arrive, with a June 22nd launch date attached to it, after being launched on Android devices before the end of this month.

Unfortunately, no specific info on the price this title would sport on Windows Phone emerged for the time being, but we should note that it would arrive on Android for US$2.99.

“Each zombie has its own special skills, so think fast and plant faster to combat them all,” the game's description reads.

“Be careful how you use your limited supply of greens and seeds -- as you battle the fun-dead, obstacles such as a setting sun, creeping fog and a swimming pool add to the challenge. With five game modes to dig into, the fun never dies!”

The Angry Birds game needs no presentation, that's for sure. It is already highly popular on Android and iOS, and some expected it to arrive on Windows Phone ever since the platform arrived on shelves.

The game was announced as being on its way to Windows Phones on May 25th, but it seems that Rovio got it delayed for a month. However, it is coming to WP7 devices, and should be released on June 29th.

“The survival of the angry birds is at stake. Dish out revenge on the green pigs who stole the birds' eggs,” the game is described on Microsoft's website.

“Use the unique destructive powers of the angry birds to lay waste to the pigs' fortified castles. Angry Birds features hours of gameplay, challenging physics-based castle demolition and lots of replay value. Each of the 195 levels requires logic, skill, and brute force to crush the enemy.”
