Beware of confusing emails that promise great gifts

Classic survey scams that fill the pockets of fraudsters with affiliate marketing money don’t necessarily have to circulate on Facebook. Sometimes an email can be much more effective.

An email baring the subject “Take our Angry Birds survey and get a $20 iTunes Giftcard” has been seen landing in inboxes in the past couple of days, asking recipients if they prefer Kamikaze Killers or Swine Snipers, Commtouch Café informs.

Unsuspecting users who decide to participate in the survey are required to answer 12 questions after which the survey site tries to dupe them into signing up to a premium SMS service.

Since they realized that Angry Birds is the new craze, scammers started sending all sorts of confusing messages with the purpose of fooling internauts into providing sensitive information and their assets.
