Mobile game phenomenon Angry Birds will be making its way to home consoles, including the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii, at least according to its developer, Rovio.

Speaking at the Social Gaming Summit in London, UK, the CEO of Rovio, Peter Vesterbacka, revealed some of the future plans that the company now has with its hugely successful product, Angry Birds.

According to Vesterbacka, the company wants to get the title on other platforms besides the iOS (including devices iPhone/iPod Touch or iPad), Android (a huge amount of mobile phones) and Nokia's Symbian mobile operating system.

These other platforms will include home consoles like the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii, "for starters," which might mean that other devices might also receive some Angry Birds love in the future.

Vesterbacka also talked about the upcoming multiplayer mode that will be launched for the addictive game, saying that it will resemble the "old school Worms" games, but concrete details about gameplay and infrastructure have yet to be settled, so don't expect it anytime soon.

The Rovio CEO also shot down rumors about an Angry Birds 2, saying that such any updates will be made directly to the first game.

Still, a spin-off, possibly telling the Angry Birds story from the perspective of the pigs might still appear, Vesterbacka revealed.

Until the gaming side of Angry Birds will grow even larger, Rovio is branching off, selling merchandise like plushes or toys ahead of the holiday season.

Angry Birds, for those not in the know, is a hugely popular game, currently released for the iOS and Android in full pledged version, and for Nokia's Symbian as a lite edition.

The game was published on the iOS by Chilingo, which was recently acquired by EA, but Rovio revealed that the deal won't affect its own internal affairs.
