Rovio, the already popular developer of mobile games, is set to make its latest title for mobile phones, the Angry Birds Rio game, available for users of Symbian and webOS devices in about two weeks from now, if some of the latest reports on the matter are to be believed.

Earlier this week, the Angry Birds Rio mobile game was made available for users of iOS and Android-based devices, but it seems that the developer is determined to make it available for more platforms and more users in the near future.

Rumor has it that, starting with April 8th, Symbian and webOS users would be able to purchase and download the new game from their respective app stores.

When available in the Ovi Store and Palm App Catalog, the game is expected to feature similar pricing as the initial Angry Birds, namely $2, though things no official confirmation on this emerged for the time being.

iPhone users can purchase the game for $0.99 from the Apple App Store (it is $2.99 for the iPad), while the Android version of the game was made available for only $1, though it is currently free in the Amazon Appstore.

In Angry Birds Rio, the original birds are kidnapped and taken to Rio, where they escape and try to save two new macaws friends, Blu and Jewel. You can have a look at the game's trailer below.

The game was developed in collaboration with Twentieth Century Fox, and its release was complemented by the launch of an animation movie, Rio, which should hit theaters on April 15.

Angry Birds Rio includes new characters into the mix, while having the birds' porcine nemeses temporarily removed from the screen, and bringing the action taken to new settings.

However, based on the impressive success of the original Angry Birds game, the new Angry Birds Rio is expected to prove more than popular among mobile phone users too, regardless whether they own devices running under Android, iOS, Symbian or webOS.
