Owners of devices running under Google's Android operating system now have at their disposal a new version of Angry Birds Rio available for download via the Android Market.

Upgraded to version 1.3.0, the new flavor of the mobile application brings along a new set of levels for those who are fond of the game to enjoy.

The highly addictive title was updated with a brand new episode, dubbed “Airfield Chase,” which includes a number of no less than 15 new levels.

The update was already made available for download via the Android Market, and comes a few weeks following its release on Apple's iOS platform.

The mobile game is said to offer support for all handsets running under Google's Android 1.6 or newer platform flavors, and to weigh in at 17MB.

The Angry Birds Rio mobile game was made available for download on Android for free, though it is ad-supported.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Angry Birds is one of the most popular mobile games on the market today, and that Angry Birds Rio is the second flavor of the game that Rovio released for its users.

“In Angry Birds Rio, the original Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to the magical city of Rio de Janeiro, where they eventually escape their captors and set out to to save their friends, Blu and Jewel – two rare macaws and the stars of the upcoming Fox motion picture, Rio,” the app's description reads.

“Angry Birds Rio will pair the physics-based gameplay of the original game with unique twists based on the film.”

The game offers a number of over 100 levels, with new achievements and hidden fruits for users to discover. New levels and episodes are meant to offer an enhanced experience to all users.

Those who already played the mobile game on their Android-based handsets and would like to try out the new episode will find it available for download from the Android Market here.
