Windows Phone 7 owners would soon have the possibility to enjoy a series of very appealing games on their devices, and Microsoft has just confirmed the upcoming availability of at least six of them.

Among these mobile games, we can count the highly popular Angry Birds, currently available for download on devices running under Google's Android or under Apple's iOS platforms, as well as on Nokia phones based on Symbian.

We already knew that Rovio was working on the delivery of this title, as the company confirmed it at a certain moment, and further confirmation on this emerged now.

In a recent post on the Windows Phone blog, Microsoft announced that Angry Birds, along with other mobile games is set to arrive on Windows Phone 7 devices in the near future.

“Angry Birds, the smash-hit smartphone game, is headed for Marketplace - and that’s just for starters,” the company announced.

“Microsoft today announced its new spring lineup of games for the phone and it includes titles that I’m sure are on many of your wish lists,” the said blog post continues.

Among the mentioned titles, we can count Doodle Jump, Plants vs Zombies, Hydro Thunder Go, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I, and geoDefense.

However, it would still take some time before these games emerge in the Marketplace, Microsoft announced.

“The six games will start arriving on April 6. Even better, they’re all Xbox LIVE friendly, featuring achievements, leaderboards and more,” the blog post continues.

Microsoft unveiled the lineup at the company’s Spring Showcase games event in San Francisco. It also announced that these titles are part of the new Must Have Games program for Windows Phone.

“Delivering on the promise to bring a fresh catalog of fun, quality games on Windows Phone 7, we're proud to announce our exciting collection of Must Have Games -- six weeks of smash hit games you don't want to miss,” the company notes on the Must-Have Games On Windows Phone 7 webpage.

“No matter what kind of games you enjoy, the lineup of Must Have Games has something for you, delivering the biggest names in mobile games complete with Xbox LIVE Achievements, leaderboards, and more,” it continues.

Those who would head to that page will be able to learn some more details on the said six games. Stay tuned to learn more info on these titles as their release date approaches.
