A man visiting Krabi, Thailand, for his birthday has received the greatest present he could ask for. Keith Williams, of Carshalton, Surrey was celebrating his 56th at Gillham’s fishing resort.

The angler took home a 132-pound (60-kg) Siamese carp, which took 25 minutes to reel in. Resort owner Stuart Gillham described the fisherman had told his wife about the feeling he had about the fishing trip.

He was expecting to catch something big, but he didn't think that it would be this big.

“His reaction was one of total shock – he said never in his wildest dreams did he imagine he would catch a world record,” Gillham tells Metro.

Williams might have broken a record for largest carp caught, but the International Game Fish Association is yet to certify the title.
