Angels Fall First is an upcoming first-person science fiction war game that mixes dogfighting, boarding operations, first-person shooting, and commanding units from the tactical map in a historical mashup of different genres.

The game has just been voted through Steam Greenlight and the most impressive thing about it is that it has been developed by a small indie team during weekends and evenings.

The developers tout it as the only game where you can spawn in your crew quarters, run to the bay and watch the space dogfighting through the windows, then jump into a dropship, fight your way to the enemy flagship, breach the hull, and then run and gun your way to the bridge and shoot the enemy captain in the face.

As you can see in the video below, it looks like "Star Wars" without all the annoying characters (like Jar-Jar Binks) and horrendous writing, and with a lot more exciting action and Stormtroopers that can actually aim.

A very exciting and ambitious project

The developer profess their love for Tie Fighter and Battlefield, and say that they decided to take matters into their own hands when they saw that the game that they had been waiting for was nowhere to be found.

Angels Fall First offers a unique experience, blending the vast scale of massive space fights with the up-close and personal moment-to-moment experience of firefights and vehicle battles.

The team initially started working on Angels Fall First back in 2005, which saw life for the first time as an Unreal Tournament 2004 mod.

As you can see in the gameplay overview video below, the game shows a ton of potential and looks great so far.

For the time being, the team is working hard on the game and intends to release it on Steam Early Access sometime soon.
