There’s a lot of interest in bringing Nigella’s court story to the big screen

Nigella Lawson may have lost the defrauding case against her former personal assistants, but the good that came out of that is that she found out just how much the public loves her. Various studio people have also been paying attention and think a movie about the scandal would do just fine.

In fact, they’ve already thought of the perfect actress to play the celebrity chef and TV personality, who is occasionally dubbed in the media as the “Goddess,” after one of her most famous shows: Angelina Jolie.

Says a source for The Sun: “Angie had planned to take a lot of time off next year but this role is very tempting. She has been gripped like everyone else by all the drama surrounding Nigella these past few months and thinks she is a remarkable woman.”

The film, it would seem, would focus on the recent trial and how not only did it not see Nigella vindicated, but exposed as a drug user who even indulged in the habit in front of her kids. The scandal was huge enough to threaten her career but, it turns out, people love her too much not to appreciate the honesty with which she approached it.

Jolie too, says the spy. “The story has got it all – and she's as intrigued as anyone else by it,” the insider explains.

Not that I don’t think the film won’t do well or that Nigella isn’t interesting enough to warrant a biopic, but I don’t see this happening. Even if the movie is ever made with Jolie, it will be some time until it drops because Angie is busy now behind the camera.
