As rumors about her crumbling relationship with Brad Pitt continue to intensify, Angelina Jolie and her brother James Haven turn their attention to their late mother, with a very touching video tribute posted on her YouTube channel. The video, which is a little over 2 minutes long, shows Marcheline Bertrand while holidaying with her two children in Hawaii in 1981, and is not a fake, E! Online informs.

The montage is comprised of footage taken from Jolie and Haven’s personal collection of family videos and is meant as a tribute to their mother who passed away three years ago. “One place Marcheline loved was Hawaii. She made many happy memories for her family there,” a message appearing at the beginning of the video writes. The film then goes on to show a 6-year-old Angelina trying to learn how to dance under her mother’s guidance, and James kissing and embracing Marcheline.

“Amid endless public speculation about her love life, Angelina Jolie has turned her thoughts over the rainbow. The Oscar winner and her brother, James Haven, have put together a video tribute to their late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who lost her battle with ovarian cancer three years ago at the age of 56. A rep for Haven confirmed to E! News that he and his sis, who are both Bertrand’s children with ex Jon Voight, created the tribute with old home movies shot on a family trip to Hawaii in 1981,” E! writes.

However, the release of this tribute video at such a time when rumors about Jolie’s personal life are getting out of hand also raised some questions. It would be too much of a coincidence, some US media outlets are saying. While, no doubt, the two are trying to remind the world what a beautiful person Marcheline was, it could very well be that the timing was chosen on purpose and that camp Jolie is also doing some damage control, they say.

Examiner, for one, is almost convinced this is the case. “While this video is sincerely beautiful and touching, the question still remains: why now? Why did Jolie and Haven wait two years to make this video? Perhaps, this is a positive PR move on Jolie’s part to let people forget about the ‘break up’ rumors that have been surfacing through the media lately,” it writes.
