Whereas Brad Pitt has kept in public view over the past weeks, approaching topics such as his latest movie, his overall career, or his personal life, his partner Angelina Jolie has flown somehow under the radar, probably keeping close to home and their numerous family. However, the actress came out of “hiding” the other night to attend the 2009 Critics’ Choice Awards, and to show the world at large that, when it comes to rocking the carpet, she is still queen.

Although the time the golden couple spent on the red carpet was considerably shorter than of other stars who also came down that night, both Brad and Angelina seemed more than happy to comply to the shouting photographers’ requests, and posed for countless pictures.

With their exquisite grace and unmistakable style, the two were the main “attractions” of the night, as the media, local and international alike, has labeled them.

Speaking of style, here too Angelina showed that what they say about less being actually more is true. Draped in an asymmetrical Max Azria dress in oyster white, and matched with color-matching Stuart Weitzman shoes, Mikimoto jewels and a gorgeous Herve Leger clutch (as per fashion/celebrity blog JustJared), the stunning actress was truly regal looking. Her swept-back hair and almost severe ponytail also contributed to her striking beauty, by laying a strong emphasis on her face.   

Brad, in his turn, looked as sharp as can be in a simple-cut Tom Ford suit, which perfectly matched the more mature look (side part and more facial hair than usual) the actor has been sporting for quite a while now. With all that, the media has already agreed, Brad’s best accessory for that night was, without a trace of doubt, the stunning Angelina on his arm.  

To show that the coin does have two sides like they say, several publications and e-zines have already found something bad to say about Angelina’s latest public appearance. The British The Daily Mail, for instance, points out that, as beautiful as she was, there was something terribly off about her face, in that it revealed she had lost too much weight again.

“[A]lthough groomed to within an inch of her life with perfectly applied make-up, and a stunning gown, it couldn’t hide the fact that six months after the birth of her twins she has lost even more weight from her already slim frame.” the Mail writes, drawing attention to Jolie’s “razor-sharp cheekbones” and the “skin tightly stretched taut across her face.”
