Last month, it was reported that Angelina Jolie and partner Brad Pitt were scouting for a new film location and that they landed on the island of Malta. Today, Us Weekly reports that, following their trip at the beginning of June, the power couple has decided to film their new project there.

The news was made public by Malta's Prime Minster, Joseph Muscat, who seemed very pleased that the Hollywood couple decided on making the movie on the Mediterranean island he called home. He told the press that he was “happy that Hollywood producers have once again chosen Malta for their project, and we will be delighted to host Mr. Pitt, Ms. Jolie, and their family for the second time in just a few years.”

The first time when the Jolie-Pitt family visited Malta was when Brad Pitt was working on the zombie apocalypse movie “World War Z” in 2011. This time around, the plan is to shoot on the neighboring island of Gozo. The Prime Minister added that “I'm sure that this film will help put our beautiful sister island of Gozo on the world map.”

An insider has revealed that the exact location of the film shoot is going to be “in Mgarr ix-Xini Bay in Gozo. The whole family will be staying in Malta for eight weeks, arriving at the end of August.” From the looks of things, the Jolie-Pitt family is going to spend most of the summer on the Mediterranean shores.

Not many details about this collaboration project have transpired so far in the press, but it is known that it's going to be a love story. Back in May, Angelina confirmed that she was going to reunite on screen with her partner, Brad Pitt, for the first time since 2005's “Mr. And Mrs. Smith” for a romantic production.

At the time, she mentioned in an interview that “It's not a big movie, it's not an action movie. It's the kind of movie we love but aren't often cast in. It's a very experimental, independent-type film where we get to be actor together and be really raw, open, try things.”

It sounds like the project is very close to both the actors' hearts and that they're using it as a means to experiment on screen all of the things they're usually denied in blockbuster movies. We'll just have to wait and see how that turns out in the end.

While Brad Pitt has had nothing but home runs in almost all of the cinematic projects he's been involved in, Angelina Jolie has unfortunately seen some strike outs in her career, especially since she's taken to the director's chair. For this reason, a collaboration between the two is going to be eagerly followed by the public.
