Angelina Jolie is perhaps one of the most high profile celebrities to be constantly getting involved in all sorts of charity campaigns. Still, even she is not safe from criticism from the tabloids – especially if she chooses to wear gold-plated shades on a public outing.
The actress, her partner Brad Pitt and the children were recently photographed out for some family fun, and while occasions like this one make the delight of the tabs because of how rarely the two are seen in public, this time it’s different.
The latest print issue of InTouch Weekly (story via
here), for one, believes Angelina should not be seen with glasses that are expensive enough to buy many meals to children in poor countries.
In other words, she should buy and wear only cheap clothes and accessories, if she doesn’t want to come across as a hypocrite, InTouch seems to say.
“For someone so outspoken about her nonchalance for fancy material items, Angelina Jolie’s sunglasses certainly beg to differ,” the tab writes.
“Her Limited Edition Gold Collection Dolce & Gabbana frames are plated in 18-karat gold and cost $580! (Um, that could probably feed the refugees she just visited in Tunisia!),” adds the celebrity magazine.
Of course, saying this means that everything Jolie has done so far has just been annulled by the fact that she chose to wear a $580 pair of shades, which is debatable.
Just recently, for instance, Jolie unveiled her first jewelry collection, Style of Jolie, in collaboration with high-end designer Robert Procop.
The collection, made entirely of chunky, very expensive pieces with rubies, emeralds and topazes, is now on display at an invite-only exhibition.
All proceeds from the exhibition will go to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, as we also
informed you when the collection was unveiled.
That is to say, even when she’s not traveling to other countries to draw attention to the problems there, Jolie remains just as committed to charity work.
