Kim Kardashian has over 20 million Twitter followers, which means that, whenever she has something to say, her message spreads to all corners of the world. That’s a good thing if she’s shilling lipstick, but not if she wants to give her 2 cents on politics, Angelina Jolie believes.

Last month, an outraged Kim took to social media to plead with her followers to read up on what was going on in Syria, in the town of Kasab (or Kessab) and to do whatever they could to stop the genocide. Kim is of Armenian roots, so she said she had a personal motive for getting involved.

“Please let’s not let history repeat itself!!!!!! Let’s get this trending!!!! #SaveKessab #ArmenianGenocide. If you don’t know what’s going on in Kessab please google it, its heart breaking! As an Armenian, I grew up hearing so many painful stories!” she wrote.

Her heart might have been in a good place but, as it happened to her on at least two other instances, her gesture came back to haunt her. In this particular case, her tweets were picked up by supporters of Syrian despot Bashar al-Assad and used as propaganda.

The National Enquirer reports (story via ShowbizSpy) that, when Angelina Jolie found out about Kim’s blunder, she nearly blew a fuse. “Angelina was far from impressed at the way Kim decided to throw her two cents into such a sensitive issue,” says a spy.

She wasn’t upset that Kim had an opinion on the situation or, for that matter, that she’d made it public and caused such a ruckus; what bothered Jolie more was the fact that Kim spoke up on Twitter, out of all places.

“She thinks the Twitter account of a reality star is a terrible platform for something so serious, period,” says the spy. “Angelina believes that if Kim was sincere about wanting to help, she’d do it thoughtfully as opposed to sending out half-baked messages to people via social media.”

Angelina is a longtime United Nations goodwill ambassador and she knows everything about how actions speak louder than words in such situations. She’s been involved in countless campaigns abroad in conflict-torn territories, some of them mediated, some not, and has always urged all those who want to act to make the world a better place to do so. Because actions can save the world, not words.

The insider says Jolie’s reaction to Kim’s tweet was something along the lines of, “Who does this witless bimbo think she is? Why doesn’t she stick to reality TV?” Ouch.
