14 DAY TRIAL // Many have complained that it’s been years since Angelina Jolie has really taken any risk on the red carpet. After the Japan premiere of her latest film, the spy thriller “Salt,” it’s safe to say that the star has just taken the biggest fashion risk of them all – and pulled it off wonderfully, in a thigh-high slit black dress, with a bare back and asymmetrical cut, as the New York Daily News also points out.
Though the star did not step outside her comfort zone, choosing black again, she did put her wild side on full display with the heart-stopping Valentino creation. Not only did it come with a bare back, but the design was also slit up to her thigh, which means her long and toned legs were always in plain sight. To accessorize, Jolie wore black Gucci open-toe pumps and earrings from her own line.
“Just one day after Angelina Jolie was seen happily walking with four of her young children through an airport in Japan, the actress stunned crowds as she transformed herself from busy mom to [bombshell] for the latest premiere of her new film. The ‘Salt’ actress rocked yet another one of her black dresses to the Japan premiere of her new spy thriller on Monday – but this time, her ensemble was anything but ordinary,” says the aforementioned e-zine in a post suggestively called “Whoa mama!.”
“Her backless frock showed off several of the actress’ tattoos, while a thigh-high slit in the front flashed audiences a lot of the 35-year-old’s leg. The actress appears to have kept a lot of the muscle she acquired from filming the action-packed flick. To prepare for her on-screen fight scenes, Jolie worked with stunt trainer Simon Crane, who told Self magazine that the actress got into shape by ‘learning a combination of Muay Thai and Krav Magha very early on’,” the NY Daily News goes on to say.
For maximum effect, Jolie went for a rather complicated updo and as little makeup as possible, for a more natural look. During the photocall, Angelina happily posed for pictures and took questions from the media, at one point even agreeing to sign autographs for fans. This prompted security forces to become mobilized to prevent the actress from getting mobbed.
