Before she was arrested for allegedly forcing a male cab driver to have relations with her at knifepoint, Luminiţa Perijoc, the 30-year-old woman from Tulcea, Romania, used to dream of being famous one day. She also has a history of violence, it has emerged.

The case has managed to grab international headlines for the obvious reasons: Perijoc, a stunning 30-year-old woman tried to force herself onto a 34-year-old cabbie who made a home delivery at her apartment.

She did not rape him as she had planned, but she did force him to perform an act he did not consent to, the victim, Nicolae Stan, has told authorities.

Plus, she resembles Angelina Jolie and this too has gotten the attention of various glossies from around the world.

The latest in the local media reveals that Perijoc actually has a history of violence: some time ago, she worked in a brothel in Madrid, Spain and was fired when she started dabbing into drugs and acting erratically.

Perijoc became addicted to cocaine, Cancan writes. Her habit made her very jumpy and aggressive, to the point where she lashed out at the owner of the establishment when she tried to tell her she needed to lay off the drugs.

Perijoc beat the owner to a bloody pulp and, shortly afterwards, was forced to return to her home country because she'd lost her only income.

Other reports in the Romanian press note that Luminiţa is already getting lots of support on Facebook, with several pages being set up in the aftermath of the scandal to “free Luminiţa.” Luckily, some of them are spoofs, but there are a few legit ones as well.

Currently, she is on psychiatric hold. If she's found to be mentally sane, she stands to be charged with attempted murder, rape and false imprisonment and, if guilty, could spend the next 5 to 10 years in jail.

Perijoc is yet to issue a statement about the recent events, but sources with the police claim she's been telling investigators Stan came into her home of his own accord – and consented to sleep with her after a couple of glasses of wine.

She says she doesn't remember why she took out the kitchen knife she later stabbed him with.
