The 2010 Golden Globe nominations were announced the other day and, aside from some very notable exceptions (Leo DiCaprio), they also included a few major surprises, like 3 nods for the critically-panned and box-office disappointment “The Tourist.”

The film, boasting two of the biggest names and most marketable stars of today, Jolie and Johnny Depp, made only $17 million in its opening weekend and opened to disastrous reviews, which made many label it a “flop.”

Still, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association honored it with three nods, much to the surprise of moviegoers everywhere: for Best Actor in a Comedy / Musical (Depp), Best Actress in a Comedy / Musical (Jolie) and Best Picture Comedy / Musical.

As iVillage also points out, while other actors would have been overwhelmed with emotion and perhaps shock too, Jolie kept her cool when learning of the nomination.

In fact, she was actually “amused” by it, the actress revealed on the red carpet at the Berlin premiere of the film. Depp was just as well, she said.

“We were laughing because it’s the first time that I’ve been in the comedic category, so it’s new for me,” Jolie told the media on the red carpet.

One actress who was completely taken aback by the nod, though, was Emma Stone, who said she feared the worst when she got the call from her manager, the same e-zine notes.

Stone landed a nod for Best Actress in a Comedy / Musical for her part in this year’s box office hit and critically acclaimed high school comedy “Easy A.”

Still, she was more than surprised when she learned of the nomination.

“I was completely asleep because it was 5:30 in the morning, and my manager called me sounding very upset, which is what you think when someone calls you at 5:30 in the morning,” the actress said in a recent interview.

“Then I realized it was excitement and he wasn’t upset. I realized that nothing was burning down and no one was hurt and everything was wonderful,” she added.

As for the other nominees she’s up against, Stone has faith in herself. “Angelina Jolie? She wishes!” she joked.
