No woman should look up to her as an ideal of beauty because of her frame, he warns

Dr. Drew is weighing in on the whole “Angelina Jolie is alarmingly thin” debate and, as he put it on The View, when he looks at her, he sees “severe malnutrition.” She should get some help, he believes.

Ever since she walked the red carpet at the 2012 Academy Awards last Sunday, Angelina has been getting a lot of media attention mostly for two things: her awkward leg pose and her rail thin figure.

Now, Dr. Drew says the latter should be like a warning signal for her close ones, telling them she really needs help for whatever problems she has that are making her so thin.

The comments were made during a recent appearance on The View, the Daily Mail informs.

“She's malnourished. I just see malnutrition,” Dr. Drew says, before adding that no one should want to emulate her emaciated look.

“We should not look at that as an ideal of beauty, even though she might be a beautiful woman,” he explains.

This isn’t the first time that he makes this comment either. Earlier this week, during a segment of his own show, Dr. Drew insisted that Jolie needed help, as the video below will confirm.

During a heated debate with his guests, Dr. Drew said that the actress’ arms and her bony face were the tell-tale signs of malnutrition, adding that she should be getting help, no matter the cause.

A couple of days ago, we also informed you that Jolie’s appearance at the Oscars immediately sparked a frenzy online, with many fans taking to social networking websites (Twitter, in particular) to say that she’s never looked this thin.

Granted, she’s never been what one might call “plump,” but it would seem that, until now, Jolie was thin but athletic. This wasn’t the case on Sunday night, when she simply looked frail, it was said.

Debate on the issue continues online. During the Oscars, Jolie’s figure generated no less than 3,399 tweets per minute.
