The full ad with Angelina Jolie for Louis Vuitton’s Core Values campaign is out. Meant to showcase how the most important things in life are usually those we take for granted, the 10-minute ad also shows the star as never before: close up and personal.
She rarely talks in great detail about her family in interviews, let alone go into the specifics of the adoption process for the children she brought into her beautiful family.
In the ad, she does just that. In the 10-minute face-to-face talk, the star opens up about what she loves the most about Cambodia, which is where the video was shot and the interview conducted, and what she’s learned from the people here.
Jolie says it’s often-times easy to lose sight of what’s really important in life, but she counts on a visit to this country to be reminded of that.
She also recalls the time she decided to adopt from here, saying that “It dawned on me that my family was here.”
“I thought about adoption, but hadn’t all made sense. It hadn’t come together and I wasn’t ready to be a mom, but I saw this little boy,” she adds.
Her 9-year-old son Maddox is adopted from Cambodia, and it’s him she’s talking about.
“I don’t believe in fate or destiny or things like that but something suddenly felt right. I came back a third time and met my son,” Jolie further says in the video.
She then talks about what she and the kids do when they visit the country, and this includes indulging in their favorite treat: organic crickets.
At one point, Jolie says, the boys would be eating so many of them that she literally had to ban them from her house, lest they got sick from eating so many of them.
As for her “dream,” Angelina says she wants her kids to grow into open-minded adults, who will never let barriers stop them from doing something. She also says she dreams of crossing the Sahara.
