New report claims actress won't eat knowing children die of starvation

For a couple of years, Angelina Jolie's thin, delicate frame has been fascinating fans and tabloids alike. While the actress says she's healthy, many believe there might be some sort of diet responsible for her waif-like figure.

Us Weekly proposes a new theory: Angelina Jolie is thin because she refuses to eat. Her work as a U.N. goodwill ambassador has taken her to remote countries where people – and children – die of starvation.

After seeing these things, Jolie can't in good conscience eat, let alone splurge on food like someone in her position and her money would do, says the aforementioned media outlet.

Instead, she's choosing to starve herself, Us claims, citing unnamed but admittedly reliable sources close to the star.

“Unlike some of her peers, Angelina Jolie’s pin thin frame has nothing to do with vanity. The U.N. goodwill ambassador, 36, who travels the globe meeting the poor, 'puts herself on fasts to make statements for the children she visits,' a Jolie source tells the new issue of Us Weekly,” the celebrity publication says.

Admittedly, those inside Angelina's circle of friends know only too well why she won't eat a decent meal.

“She says, 'If they can’t eat, I can’t eat.' [She] does different cleanses from around the world. It’s very dramatic, but that’s how she gets,” the insider further explains.

“If she does eat a burger and fries, says the source, 'she feels guilty about it',” Us further writes.

Not just Angelina's friends are worried that this type of thinking might take a terrible toll on her health – if it hasn't already –, but Brad too is worried sick about it.

“He’s worried about her and has made her see a zillion doctors, but they keep telling her she’s fine,” says a second insider.

As noted above, Jolie's figure has been subject for speculation ever since she lost a lot of weight at the time of her mother's death, never really getting back to her curvier figure from before.

Just recently, for instance, another report was saying she was so busy and perhaps obsessed with staying thin that she'd rarely eat over 600 calories a day, half the amount a woman on a weight loss program must consume daily.
